Explorers Receive Motivation from ET

Those who listen to motivational speakers most likely know Eric “ET” Thomas. The Detroit native loudly encourages his listeners to “Grind,” and to “Want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe.” The Explorers sponsored a table for the Lewis Walker Institute dinner featuring Thomas. The Institute, dedicated to youth education, hosted the event in the Bernhard Center at Western Michigan University. More than 200 motivated dreamers hung on his every word, and any left inspired by the charge to make a difference in the lives of youth.

“He makes you feel like you can do anything you dream about,” said 11-year-old Knevada, who wrote notes on his speech in the back of the book. “I didn’t know who he was before, but I do now.”

Eric Thomas shares some gems of wisdom.
