In 2013 Community Voices partnered with the Merze Tate Explorers to bring youth voices to media. Today, the partnership expands to provide Girls Can! quarterly online and in print!

Explorers Founder and publisher of Community Voices poses with Arianna Ryan who is featured on the cover of Girls Can! Fall 2021 with Dr. Sylvia Hicks-Fox of Bright Futures Pediatrics in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Each beautifully-designed issue provides fresh, original articles written by youth. The Explorer co-editors, Aliah Ward and Alayna Kuhn, help set the tone for the magazine and close each issue out with inspiration and excitement for the edition to come. Each cover will also be unique as girls will pose on the covers with women who inspire them in areas from the arts to science. Articles and photographs highlight the media and career exploration journey of girls who take part in the year-round Merze Tate Explorers academies on Saturdays and in the summers.

With the professional guidance of graphic designer Sean Hollins, each page of the magazine is created to highlight youth while inspiring all ages to explore life’s possibilities.

Please view the online version here or visit local libraries in Southwest Michigan and Walgreen’s stores in Kalamazoo, for a free print edition!
